Crystals of Snow

Yeah it snowed and I got some more duct tape and after tromping through my neighborhood for two days (including some epic sleding behind the Balfour Triangle Stop) I figured it was time to take the dog out for a little adventuring. I fired up the truck and made it out of my driveway and then immediately got stuck on the street in front of my house. Yeah a great start - driving a light pick up rocks! I eventually made it out to 25 and clear roads until I got to the forest gate.

Highway 276:

I didn't need to drive far up 276 but finding a place to park was challenging. I really had no business trying to drive around in that crap and just abandoned my truck:

Only one place to go:

And since I have quit mountain biking I took a sled. Or I should say Duma took a sled:

You'd think Black would perfect for sleding but you are wrong. I went up to the top of Hickory Knob before I turned around. It was sledable for short stretches but that was it. Still easier than carrying a silly bicycle.

The death of a camera:

As you can see the Black Mtn. trail is not exactly the best sled route around. Next time I'm going to try Turkey Pen Gap instead.
