Let it snow

It's snowing again. I'm starting to like the snow if I don't already. I like the depth and texture it adds to the landscape. Last winter felt very cold and hard where as this winter has been much warmer and much more alive thanks to the cozy nature of snow. This morning they said we might get a little snow so I went ahead and went to work. By the time I finally made it to work there were a few inches on the ground and I started to wonder how much more it would take to make getting down the mountain difficult. I shoveled the driveway and by the time I was finished and walked back up to the top another two inches had fallen. So, I called it a day and headed for home nice and easy.

Seeing as how I was passing by the forest gate I decided I might as well walk the dog and headed into Pisgah.

I moved last week and have been too busy mowing the grass, painting the walls and taking out the trash to do much playing in the woods and before today the closest I had come to Pisgah was a road ride on Sunday.

Highway 276 was snowy but passable and I stopped as soon as I could and took the dog for a run around my new favorite trail, Sycamore Cove. We did it counterclockwise with a steady snow falling the whole time. Snow really adds traction to the trail and other than stopping to take a few pictures we ran the 5k at about the same rate we do our neighborhood runs.

March in Pisgah. Can it get any better?

  2. This is crazy that we have a better weather in Indiana. Should be low 50's this weekend.
